Testament’s role and service scope
This page explains the general boundary of the technology. Contractual terms, the scope of advice, fees, complaints routes and the identity of responsible service providers are supplied through the adviser-led service you use.

A technology platform, not a law firm
Testament provides software for guided estate-planning journeys, structured review workflows, LPA instruction preparation, aggregate operational reporting, document provenance, execution records, and client-controlled document storage. The platform does not hold itself out as a law firm and this public website does not give personal legal, tax, or financial advice.
Delivered through an adviser firm
The service is licensed to financial adviser and wealth-management firms. The responsible firm, reviewer, legal partner, fee model, scope of advice, complaints route, and client terms must be identified in the service presented to each client.
England and Wales scope
The individual and mirror-will workflows and both LPA instruction journeys are designed for England and Wales. Scotland and Northern Ireland have different legal regimes and sit outside this service scope. Cases beyond supported capabilities must be referred rather than forced through document or form production.
Separate mirror wills and LPA preparation only
A mirror-will coordination links two clients while preserving separate accounts, drafts, review decisions, documents, and execution records. LPA workflows record donor instructions for review only. They do not provide signatures, witnessing, certificate provision, official LP1F/LP1H forms, an application to the Office of the Public Guardian, or evidence that an LPA is valid or registered.
Human approval and deterministic documents
The software is designed to assemble only versioned clauses approved for the relevant template and case. It does not generate bespoke legal wording with AI at runtime. Qualified people remain responsible for the clause library, supported-case rules and the review outcome.
Intellectual property and acceptable use
Testament branding and product materials may not be represented as legal advice or a law firm service. Formal licence, acceptable-use, availability, support, liability, data-processing, termination, and intellectual- property terms govern use of the service.
Your service documents matter
Before starting, read the terms and service disclosures supplied by your adviser firm. They should explain who provides advice and review, the scope, fees, complaints route and how your information is handled.
